D-Day Minus 2
Friday was a trip up to Mundelein to drop off the RV for a new set of tires. The RV service shop offered a 25 point inspection, front to back, top to bottom for $299. I felt this was a good insurance policy. I know that the owner takes really good care of the RV, but just wanted to make sure. I also had them check the turn signals, as I knew that there must be some type of short. When I put on the left turn signal, the right would flash. When I used the right, both would flash. It would be a long four weeks of people honking at me if this was not fixed. The dealership was VERY friendly. The guy who worked on it kept calling, practically after each step of the 25 to tell me things were O.K., or that it needed a shot of grease or a screw tightened. I kept telling him he did not need to call, just fix it, but that is not how he does business.
We also shopped for some of the final items for the basement (knobs and other hardware), and spent the rest of the afternoon clearing out some stuff we had stored at Wendy’s sister’s house.
We had a nice get together on Friday evening at Wendy’s sister’s house. There were some gifts for our “going away” from her sister Sandy. I got a hat with an RV and “Pilot” on the label. Wendy got one with “This is How I Roll”. Charlotte got an RV messenger bag. Georgia got a t-shirt with I, heart, my RV.
The best was Jackson’s who got a t-shirt with a guy on the front yelling “Shitters Full”. He was a little surprised – very inappropriate for his age, but he loved it and said he would wear it each time he helped Dad dump the tank. We all got a great laugh.
